Donate medication and medical supplies
Many animals need specific medical care, and that costs a lot of money. By donating medication or medical supplies you help animals recover and support our volunteer veterinarians.
Always through licensed veterinarians. At Sanco, medical care and medication are only administered on the recommendation of licensed veterinarians. Our chair is a licensed Belgian vet herself.
What you can donate
- Veterinary medication
- Flea and tick treatments
- Dewormers
- Human medication that can also be used for animals (if in doubt, ask us)
- Medical supplies: gloves, compresses, surgical instruments, disinfectants, medical alcohol, suture material …
What we cannot accept
- Opened liquid medication that has expired
- Unopened medication more than two years past its expiry date
- Eye ointments that have been open for several months
- Used medical supplies that can no longer be used

Tell us what you would like to donate
Mention the medication or supplies, the quantity and the expiry date. Photos of the packaging help our veterinarians quickly judge where your donation is needed most.

Frequently asked questions
Can I donate medication, even if it has expired?
Veterinary medication, flea and tick treatments, dewormers and medical supplies are very welcome. We accept unopened medication up to two years past its expiry date, but not opened liquid medication that has expired. Everything is assessed and used by licensed veterinarians.
I am a veterinarian. How can I help?
By donating surplus medication, food or medical supplies, or by helping hands-on at shelters and neutering and spaying projects abroad. We are happy to put you in touch with organisations on the ground. For any veterinary procedure we always draw up a written agreement. Read more for veterinarians.
How do I offer food or supplies?
Email donaties@sanco.org with what you would like to donate and how much, ideally with photos. We prefer larger quantities. Only have a small amount? Get in touch anyway: there may be a volunteer near you where you can drop it off.
