Sanco never sees or stores card details: payments are handled directly by our payment partners.
We only process data of minors (under 16) with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian. We only collect data you provide to us yourself, for example through the donation form, email or phone, and data you share with us via social media.
4. Who do we share your data with?
We work with carefully selected service providers (processors) who only process your data on our behalf:
- Donorbox (donation platform) and the payment providers Stripe and PayPal, for processing online donations;
- Cloudflare, for hosting and securing the website and for anonymous, cookie-free visitor statistics;
- Google Workspace, for our email;
- our bank, for bank transfers.
Some of these providers are established outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Such transfers are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
We never sell or rent out your data and never pass it on for commercial purposes. If the law requires us to share data, for example with the police as part of an investigation, we will do so.
5. How long do we keep your data?
We keep personal data no longer than necessary for the purpose for which you provided it, taking into account legal retention periods (including for accounting). Emails are kept as long as needed to follow up on your question.
6. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. Everyone who has access to your data on behalf of Sanco is bound by confidentiality. The website only works over a secure connection (HTTPS).
7. Cookies
Sanco.org does not set any tracking or advertising cookies itself. We measure visitor numbers anonymously and without cookies. The embedded Donorbox donation form and the payment providers may use technically necessary cookies, for example to complete a payment securely. Cloudflare may set a technically necessary security cookie to prevent abuse.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your data and obtain a copy;
- have incorrect or incomplete data corrected;
- have your data erased when it is no longer needed;
- restrict or object to processing, including use for informational mailings;
- have your data transferred to yourself or another party;
- withdraw any consent you have given at any time.
Send your request to info@sanco.org. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to identify yourself. We do not subject anyone to automated decision-making or profiling.
9. Complaints
Do you have a complaint about how we handle your data? Please contact us first so we can find a solution together. You also always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be.
10. Changes
We may update this privacy policy. It was last changed on 19 September 2026.
